Jacob Mc Cready — Senior Artist
Originally from Louisiana in the United States, Jacob made the move to New Zealand and quickly fell in love with the country while travelling its breathtaking landscapes. Now calling Queenstown home, he brings his southern warmth, easygoing charm, and serious hair expertise to the Revolver floor.
Jacob is known for creating effortlessly beautiful, lived-in, natural-looking hair that grows out seamlessly and looks incredible long after you leave the salon. His style of hair artistry focuses on soft, dimensional colour and finishes that feel modern, wearable, and uniquely tailored to each client.
A true perfectionist, Jacob has an exceptional eye for detail. From consultation to final finish, he takes the time to understand exactly what you’re hoping to achieve and carefully crafts a look that enhances your natural features and lifestyle. His consultations are thorough and collaborative — every client leaves the chair feeling heard, confident, and excited about their hair.

Jaimie Barr — Senior Artist
Jaimie made the move to Central Otago from Christchurch and hasn’t looked back. Four years in and she brings serious colour expertise to the chair — along with a genuine love for helping clients get hair that actually works for their life.
She’s a colour specialist through and through, with a particular obsession for dimensional, lived-in blondes and those “your hair but better” enhanced natural tones that look effortless. Balayage is her happy place, and she excels at collaborating with clients to create looks that are easy to maintain and even easier to love. She loves helping clients understand how to maintain their balayage between visits.
As a fellow frizzy-haired girl, Jaimie is also a huge advocate for nanoplasty smoothing treatments and loves helping clients finally feel in control of their hair. Above all, she’s passionate about the collaboration — working with you to get your dream hair, then helping you keep it that way.
Lauren McMurray Sherwin — Creative Director & Founder
For Lauren, hairdressing is more than a career — it’s her life. She created Revolver Hair Studio with that same passion, driven by a desire to put Queenstown and Arrowtown hair on the map in New Zealand.
Creative Director and Co-Founder of both Iron + Ivy and its sister salon Revolver Hair, Lauren is an internationally trained hairstylist with over 25 years of experience in her craft. Her instinctive understanding and feel for hair enabled her to excel in the industry early — becoming a teacher of specialised cutting techniques at just 22, earning a distinction at Toni & Guy, and completing her residency at the prestigious award-winning Reuben Wood salon in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
Lauren is widely regarded as an expert colourist, renowned for her incredible blonde and balayage work. She has built an acclaimed reputation across the UK and New Zealand and is regularly called upon by clients throughout the country to achieve results others can’t. A seasoned educator, she frequently travels New Zealand delivering her Modern Blonde / Modern Client series to stylists and has been named a finalist for Top Performing Stylist of the Year at the Industry Awards NZ. She is also regularly featured in multiple publications.

Stevee Devonda — General Manager & Founder
Co-owner and General Manager, Stevee is a long-term Queenstown local with a genuine passion for customer service and client experience. Originally from the UK, Stevee has travelled the world before settling in New Zealand and becoming a citizen. He met Lauren and together they opened Iron + Ivy and Revolver Hair Studio.
With a background as an experienced advertising manager, Stevee brings a wealth of business knowledge and operational expertise to the running of the studio. He also acts as a mentor to others looking to start small businesses in Queenstown — a reflection of his deep connection to the local community.
